It makes sense that more boys and men are getting into cooking; after all they are the ones that enjoy eating so much. We have four sons and they all eat their weight in food each day it seems like.Food, teenage boys, insatiable appetites, these things go together. What we have to do is to teach our boys to become master cooks to feed themselves and us also. A couple of my boys show limited interest in learning the culinary arts of entrees but they all show extreme curiosity about the construction of brownies, cookies and cakes. Our thirteen year old loves to watch "Cake Boss" with Buddy Valastro who owns Carlo's City Hall Bake Shop in Hoboken, New Jersey. The turns out beautiful specialty cakes, occasion cakes and the finest pastries around. This is a show of creativity, wonder and awe as Buddy takes cake challenges and makes art out of cake and frosting. It is a wonder to behold. His Eiffel Tower would rival any art contest out of any medium."Cake Boss" can only be seen on Discovery Channel. We recorded it and watch it at night before bed time reading. If you record it it only last 20 minutes. A great end to a busy day. I keep hoping it will inspire this son to take spatula and mixing bowl and begin to create delectable concoctions.Watch for a cable and dish network specials if you don't already have them and start your little chefs on their way to cooking culinary wonders.
